Description

Trust no penguin. Penal Penguins is a multiplayer social deduction game for 4 to 15 players, set in a prison on a snowy mountain. Every inmate is a penguin, and a few of them are hitmen. Civilians work together on tasks to fill the Prison Break bar and escape. The hitmen blend in, kill when nobody is looking, and win once they equal or outnumber the civilians left alive. Everyone talks over proximity voice chat, so you can hear the lies, and the screams, from down the hall.

History

Penal Penguins is the first game from WorldMint Games, an independent studio in Adelaide, Australia. It is designed and developed by founder Nikolas in the Godot engine, with Steam peer-to-peer multiplayer.

Features

• Social deduction for 4 to 15 players, with 1 to 3 hidden hitmen depending on lobby size. Each player only knows their own role.
• Civilians complete tasks to fill the shared Prison Break bar. Hitmen win by thinning the herd until they outnumber the civilians.
• Proximity voice chat. Voices are muffled by walls, and the security room's PA system broadcasts a voice to speakers across the prison.
• Hitmen crawl through the air vents, plant mines, and cover innocent penguins in blood to frame them. Anyone caught bloody had better find a shower or a washcloth.
• Earn cash for tasks and spend it at the vending machine on flashlights, cell keys, blood bags, washcloths and anti-personnel mines.
• Shoot hoops in the yard to push the escape along, with bonus cash for swishes, three-pointers and half-court shots. Throw snowballs, bin trash and slip on the soap.
• Bodies ragdoll where they fall, and a moody retro PSX-style look keeps every corner of the cell block suspicious.
• Host or join games through an in-game Steam lobby browser.
